Covariant is a dynamic AI company that is changing the way robots interact with their environment. We are seeking a skilled mechanical engineer to design and develop innovative new hardware components to meet the needs of our cutting-edge AI applications.
As a member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and iterating on components & mechatronic subsystems to deploy at customer sites per product requirements within aggressive timelines. You will lead design and development work from concept through production for mid-scale volumes; perform DFM, DFA, tolerance analysis, and design for manufacturability. Additionally, you will integrate custom sensors and electronic assemblies into industrial-grade components and develop and lead the design of experiments for validation of component functionality & robustness throughout its expected lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CAD design, prototyping, and manufacturing, as well as excellent analytical and communication skills. Proficiency in Onshape or Solidworks and implementing data management workflows is required. Experience with quick-turn manufacturing and rapid prototyping, as well as cross-functional communication, documentation, and presentation skills are also necessary.
