Summary:
The Sr Mechanical Sustaining Engineer will focus on reliability improvements and cost reduction opportunities for Covaris Focused-ultrasonicator product lines and accessories. The individual should have 5 years of Sustaining Engineering experience and manufacturing support of complex electromechanical systems within an ISO or FDA regulated organization. This position will be located on-site in Woburn, MA.
Essential Responsibilities: The employee may be required to perform all or a combination of the following essential responsibilities as determined by business necessity.
- Apply Design for Excellence (DFx) principles to enhance product reliability, and cost-effectiveness
- Demonstrates a strong motivation to achieve goals and exceed expectations
- Works both independently and collaboratively to drive a project through to completion
- Working knowledge of GD&T to produce dimensional drawings and CAD files within SolidWorks
- Perform robust root cause analysis including report writing
- Author Change Orders within an eQMS
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5 years of mechanical design or sustaining engineering experience in a regulated industry; medical device experience is helpful
- Experience utilizing SolidWorks and PDM for design
- Knowledge of QSR and ISO regulations is a plus
- Good written and oral communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
- Works well in a team, proactive, thrives in fast moving environment
