The mission of Cove Baptist Music Ministry is to provide an opportunity for spiritual growth and inspiration through Christ-honoring music. The job of a Music Minister is a multifaceted role that combines musical leadership with spiritual guidance.

Job Summary: The Music Minister is responsible for leading and coordinating the musical aspects of the worship services and other church events. This position involves selecting appropriate music, directing the choir and/ or praise team, working with musicians and the audio/ visual team, and fostering a spirit of worship among the congregation.Cove Baptist Church has a variety of ages in the church family that enjoy blended worship of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Responsibilities:
- Musical Leadership:
○ Select and arrange music for all church services, including Sunday worship services, special events, and seasonal celebrations.
○ Lead congregational singing, choirs, and instrumental ensembles during services.
○ Provide accompaniment on piano as needed.
○ Conduct rehearsals as needed for the choir, praise team, or other musicians.
- Worship Planning:
○ Collaborate with the pastor and other church leaders to plan worship services that align with the overall theme and message of the church.
○ Coordinate with other ministries within the church to incorporate music into their programs and events.
○ Stay informed about trends in Christian music and incorporate new songs and styles into worship services as appropriate.
- Leadership:
○ Foster a supportive environment where individuals can grow in their musical and spiritual gifts.
- Administrative Tasks:
○ Manage the music ministry budget, including expenses for music resources, equipment, and special events.
○ Coordinate the scheduling of rehearsals, performances, and special music events.
○ Maintain music library and resources, ensuring they are up-to-date and easily accessible.
○ Assure audio/visual equipment is operational prior to church services and special events.
Qualifications:
● A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a demonstrated Christian character.
● Experience with church music and leading worship.
● Ability to communicate and work collaboratively with church staff and volunteers.
Working Conditions: The Music Minister position typically involves weekend and evening work. Flexibility is required to accommodate special events and seasonal celebrations throughout the church calendar.
