PRIMARY FUNCTION
Coordinate the nursing operations of the comprehensive system by performing the following duties.
SCOPE OF WORK
- Assist Medical Director in the overall operation of medical services and treatment programs
- Direct daily nursing operations within the residential and women's services facilities
- Observe client physical and mental health status for appropriate referrals
- Provide necessary health education
- Assure clients receive medical exams and evaluation procedures
- Transcribe physician's orders
- Communicate with other medical personnel in case of emergencies
- Maintain supplies and equipment
- Coordinate client Medicaid reviews
- Submit reports as required
- Participate in clinical staffings and team meetings
- Attend meetings with Agency nurses to review nursing issues
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
1-5 People
Primary consultant for staff nurses. Supervises all medical staff either directly or through subordinate supervisors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Agency's policies and any applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training new employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients and staff. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, and volume. Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to perform CPR and other First Aid procedures
