What are the responsibilities and job description for the Golf Course Maintenance position at Cove Communities?
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Carry out diverse skilled activities involving the repair and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
- Perform maintenance duties assigned by the superintendent on the golf course.
- Using knowledge and skills in horticulture to design and implement large and small landscaping projects.
- Offer assistance in the maintenance and repairs of turf areas and irrigation systems.
- Work with diverse machines and equipment, such as reel mowing and rotary mowing equipment edgers, weedwhackers, tractors and loaders.
- Guarantee adherence to safety practices and principles, and to the relevant Federal, State, and Local codes.
- Ensure the maintenance of equipment and tools in a clean, secure, and appropriate working condition.
- Ensure proper use, care and inventory of company vehicle, equipment and tools assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Training and experience in golf course maintenance, horticulture and lawn maintenance.
- Ability to interpret and follow instruction and to work independently or on a team.
- Ability to effectively accomplish diverse skilled work in the repair and maintenance of facilities.
- Ability to carry out operations safely and efficiently; utilize diverse assigned appliances and tools.
- Must have valid drivers' license and complete pre-employment background check.
Education and Experience
- A High School Diploma or G.E.D certificate with two or more years of progressive and practical experience in at least one or more of the skilled trades previously described.
- Excellent organizational skills with a high level of accuracy.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, able to work with shovels, rakes and other hand and power tools. Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
