ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST

$23.00 - $27.00 Per Hour

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.

• Charges expenses to accounts and department by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries.

• Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.

• Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.

• Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.

• Maintains historical records properly filing documents.

• Disburses petty cash by recording entry; verifying documentation.

• Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.

• Assists in tracking of project expenditure by properly coding invoices.

• Process deposits as required throughout the year and file bank documentation.

• Supports and follows all Cove Communities and Point Sebago policy at all times.

• All other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

• 3 years of accounts payable experience.

• Desired, Associates Degree in Accounting or business related field.

• Basic knowledge of accounting.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Extremely high attention to detail.

• Ability to multitask, establish priorities to meet deadlines.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Exceptional organization and tracking skills.

• MS Office advanced computer skills. Excel intermediate to advanced level.

• Advanced communication skills (both verbally and written), and the ability to communicate with all levels of management and staff.

• Ability to appropriately handle confidential information.
