Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
- Charges expenses to accounts and department by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries.
- Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
- Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
- Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
- Maintains historical records properly filing documents.
- Disburses petty cash by recording entry; verifying documentation.
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Assists in tracking of project expenditure by properly coding invoices.
- Process deposits as required throughout the year and file bank documentation.
- Supports and follows all Cove Communities and Point Sebago policy at all times.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- 3 years of accounts payable experience.
- Desired, Associates Degree in Accounting or business related field.
- Basic knowledge of accounting.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Extremely high attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask, establish priorities to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional organization and tracking skills.
- MS Office advanced computer skills. Excel intermediate to advanced level.
- Advanced communication skills (both verbally and written), and the ability to communicate with all levels of management and staff.
- Ability to appropriately handle confidential information.
