This temporary position is only available for the summer of 2025.
The selected candidate will work with the Campus Grounds staff in their daily duties, assisting with landscaping and general lawn maintenance. This includes operating equipment such as mowers, weed eaters, rakes, and shovels. The ideal candidate should have prior experience in this field and be able to work independently. They must also be able to lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds regularly.
In addition to these tasks, the selected candidate will be expected to maintain assigned areas in good condition, adhering to high standards of cleanliness and orderliness. They will also participate in special projects and tasks assigned by the Campus Grounds crew.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual who is willing to work outdoors, often in varying weather conditions. Candidates with allergies to grass, plants, flowers, pollen, etc. may still be considered if they can provide proof of being able to manage their symptoms while on the job. Employees are expected to dress professionally and appropriately for their role, making a positive impression on others. They must also be punctual and communicative, seeking to resolve any conflicts in accordance with the College's policies.
Candidates must meet certain physical requirements, including being at least 17 years old, having sufficient hearing, and being able to distinguish between colors. They should also be comfortable working in environments that require frequent standing, stooping, and bending.
