Covenant Health is seeking a Provider Orientation Specialist to join our team. This essential role supports the organization’s strategic and growth initiatives by playing a vital part in the recruitment, placement, retention, and outreach of providers at assigned facilities. The Specialist will be responsible for managing locum assignments and ensuring the completion of all onboarding processes for both temporary and permanent provider hires. Additionally, this position serves as the primary liaison between local MSO offices and payer groups.
***Hybrid remote: The incumbent must reside in Maine (ME) or New Hampshire (NH) and be available to travel to facility locations as needed. ***
Essential Job Responsibilities
Collaborates with the MSO/Credentialing Specialists and the Payer Departments to organize a successful onboarding process for new providers (temporary and permanent).
Scheduling new hire pre-employment physicals, ensuring the completion of all required paperwork, and sending the change notification. Collaborates with the local EX Coordinators to ensure all new hire paperwork has been submitted and completed for day one of employment.
Scheduling individual provider orientation specific to the department, the role and provider’s skill set.
Support the sourcing and tracking of locum’s recruitment for each location. In addition, completes intake meetings with department managers for each locum need.
Assists with maintenance of tracking documents regarding open positions, applicant status, recruitment sources, and any other applicable metrics in RMS and in Position Manager.
Provides input, as needed, into the provider recruitment budget. Manages costs effectively, audits and submits expenses for approval and payment.
Schedule all travel arrangements for provider candidates for all three sites.
Collects interview feedback forms for all provider candidates. Disseminates feedback to the local VPMA, VP of Operations and Recruiters.
Is the point person for non-employed providers; to include facilitate onsite candidate interviews, collaborate with joint venture partners on a weekly basis, and manage their onboarding process (and orientation schedule).
Provides back up support for recruiter absences or recruiter vacancies.
Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health and the Catholic Health Ministry.
Other duties as consistent with this role.

Strong computer skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Demonstrated ability to conduct internet research in an efficient, productive manner.
Exhibit a high-energy level, and demonstrate the ability to work as a team, with flexibility in work hours to schedule and meet the needs of the medical staff.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage at all levels of the organization. Demonstrate a professional and adaptable demeanor with internal and external clients, including administrators, physicians, peers, and support staff.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including superior grammar and proofreading skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision, set priorities, and follow through to accomplish results.
Education & Experience
Associate’s degree required.
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working with physicians/providers, medical practice office staff, or other medical specialties required.
Previous experience in the following areas strongly preferred: Assisting physicians/providers with credentialing, Medical Staff Office operations, working with Locums physicians/agencies.
Strong communication skills, to include emails (Email examples may be requested)
Completion of AAPPR Locums Certification within 6-months of hire.
An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements
