Overview: The Manager, Cardiac Catheterization, Electrophysiology and Interventional Radiology demonstrates excellent customer service performance and supports a work environment in that his/her attitude and actions are always consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission and the WE CARE Values of Covenant HealthCare.

The Manager is responsible for the overall operations of the Cardiac Cath, Electrophysiology and Interventional Radiology Labs, where Diagnostic and Therapeutic Cardiac procedures and other invasive procedures are performed. Other procedures include but not limited to, Pulmonary embolisms, Neurointerventional, and Biopsies. The manager has responsibility for ensuring that quality and regulatory standards are being followed, by ensuring that registry data is accurate and accreditation standards are met by engaging both providers and staff. The manager will also ensure budgets for responsible areas are followed and work with revenue cycle and supply chain to ensure both charges and supply costs are managed appropriately. Will have 24-hour accountability for all activities and staff who work under their direction. Will develop, implement and monitor operational and capital budgets for the respective areas. Assists in developing new programs and business activities associated with Center for the Heart; develops/implements a supportive environment that energizes staff to enhance the delivery of quality patient care. The Manager coaches staff to demonstrate excellent customer service performance and role models attitudes and actions which are consistent with the standards contained in the Covenant HealthCare System mission/vision/values and leadership expectations. Performs other duties as assigned. Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to lead staff caring for the patient groups of adult and geriatric population.

Applies a systematic process for program planning and resource allocation for populations of patients.

Ensures that the physical environment on the patient care unit promotes quality patient outcomes.

Promotes clinical excellence through applied clinical knowledge, leadership, and research utilization.

Unit Leadership:
Through team facilitation, vision, and values, goals for unit and teams are aligned with the organizational mission, goals, and objectives.

With staff, designs systems, processes, and roles for effective unit leadership.

Accomplishes goals of unit, department, and organization.

Holds all suppliers of service accountable for their services to the patient, team, unit, and organization.

Orchestrates change to improve clinical and organizational outcomes.

Creates and cultivates high-performing and cohesive team(s) that transcend the boundaries of roles, disciplines, and/or unit geography.

Inspires teams and individuals to give their best to achieve desire patient team, and unit outcomes.

Respects the individuality of patients, visitors, and staff, and embraces the diverse backgrounds, talents, and contributions that each brings to the situation.

Employs strategies to promote excellence in individual and team performance and productivity.

Performance Improvement:
Integrates continual performance improvement into the structure and processes of the unit and the daily practice of team members to achieve desired clinical and fiscal outcomes.

Aligns all unit activities with unit, department, and institution performance improvement goals, and channels resources to high leverage opportunities for performance improvement.

Exemplifies financial stewardship by effectively and efficiently managing human and financial resources to achieve desired clinical outcomes.

Participates in cost control activities through an organized system of planning and monitoring the utilization of supplies and equipment.

Collaborates with others to develop cost-effective systems and resources that achieve equivalent or superior therapeutic results and satisfy patient needs.

Demonstrates a commitment to managerial development through participation at meetings, committee membership and the pursuit of continuing education.

Maintains patient confidentiality.

Promptly reports actual or potential medication errors and adverse drug events.

Establishes and monitors an effective Quality Assurance program for areas of responsibility within Center for the Heart

Administrative Accountability

Maintains an accurate Chargemaster and coding systems utilizing appropriate CPT-4 and ICD-10 codes.

Produces appropriate Hospital and departmental statistical reports.

Provide supervision for Records Management.

Contributes to organization success targets for patient satisfaction and net operating margin.

Demonstrates excellent customer service in attitude and actions at all times, consistent with the Code of Conduct.

Qualifications: EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required: Bachelors degree in Nursing. Prefer Additional Healthcare or business administration degree. Current Michigan licensure to practice as an RN; BSN. Clinical background in a hospital setting. Prefer Cath lab, EP or IR experience.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Three (3) to five (5) years of related experience.

Demonstrated ability to develop and lead teams.

Demonstrated sound judgment in difficult / sensitive situations.

Demonstrated ability to meet Covenant’s Leadership Expectations (strategic leadership, character, interpersonal skills, job performance, and results).

Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to maintain punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.

Constant finger dexterity, feeling, talking, hearing, near vision, midrange vision, far vision, depth perception, visual accommodation, color vision and field of vision.

Frequent lifting 0-10 lbs.

Occasional lifting 11-100 or more lbs.

Frequent standing and walking.

Occasional sitting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, squatting, crawling, twisting, reaching, handling and tasting/smelling.
