Summary:
The ECC Greeter is responsible and accountable for a variety of supportive tasks. He/She provides assistance with patients and visitors under the direction of the Registered Nurse. The ECC Greeter demonstrates excellent customer service performance in that his/her attitude and actions are at all times consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission and Values of Covenant HealthCare and the commitment to Extraordinary Care for Every Generation.
Responsibilities:
Models Covenant’s Mission, Vision and Values of keeping our commitment to Extraordinary Care for Every Generation.
Reiterates the Covenant HealthCare Values- “We Care” (Working together, Excellence, Customer service, Accountability, Respect, and Enthusiasm).
Has social contact with patients able to care for and treat them according to the guidelines as defined by Covenant HealthCare.
Assists with the needs of the patients and visitor needs. Performed under the direction of the RN.
Greets patients, families, and visitors upon arrival to the Emergency Care Center.
Assists with simple procedures and follows standard precautions.
Assists with collecting data regarding presenting complaints.
Assists registered nurse with providing refreshments to patients and visitors.
Performs safety measures to prevent fall precautions.
Ambulates, transports, and positions patients with proper body mechanics, using special equipment as necessary.
Provides diversion activities, comforts and supports patients and their family.
Assists the patient and family in learning about the Emergency Care Center and the method of prioritization used when serving patients.
Maintains clean and orderly ECC Lobby environment.
Removes, labels, and reports any malfunctioning equipment.
Remains flexible in cooperation with 24-hour staffing patterns and scheduling needs for provision of care in all inpatient units.

Other information:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High School diploma required.
BLS Heartsaver required.
Attending unit conferences, required competencies, in-service programs, annual mandatory education, competencies and continuing education activities to meet the organization’s expectations.
One year of experience in data entry and computer information retrieval preferred.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Basic computer skills.
Knowledge of standard office equipment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated organizational skills.
Sound judgment in handling confidential or sensitive issues and material.
Excellent time management, to achieve maximum productivity.
Attentive to detail.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to maintain punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
