Job Title – Safety Coordinator
Location – 3540 Portugee Rd, Sandston, VA (100% Onsite)
Role Type – Contract to Hire (6 months initial term, potential for full-time employment)
Must Have Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of safety experience or a closely related field (e.g., EMT, nursing, military)
- OSHA 30 certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build rapport and deliver constructive feedback
- Proactive approach to safety and compliance
Responsibilities and Job Details:
- Support foremen in developing Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) in alignment with OSHA standards
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations
- Assist in designing and delivering employee safety training programs
- Promote safety awareness and enforce safe work practices
- Conduct workplace safety inspections and identify potential hazards
- Investigate and report incidents, accidents, and near-misses
- Maintain accurate safety documentation and incident records
- Contribute to emergency response planning and training efforts
- Monitor and ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Participate in safety meetings and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
- Communicate safety updates through bulletins, posters, and internal channels
- Collaborate with colleagues and leadership to build a positive safety culture on-site
