PURPOSE: This individual will be part of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) team and will work on the planning, analysis, design, testing, development, implementation, maintenance and communication related to the EMR System. This individual will participate on various internal and external teams focused on the EMR optimization. Serves as the primary contact for EMR applications to include supporting any issues that may arise. Carries out all duties while maintaining compliance and confidentiality and promoting the mission and philosophy of the organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for one or more specific EMR modules with the ability to produce quality outcomes within tight timeframes.
- Responsible for the maintenance of issue lists, documentation, weekly status reports, schedules as well as other tools crucial to the project success.
- Works as part of a team to coordinate aspects of planning, analysis, design, testing, development, implementation, maintenance, communication, and evaluation of existing or new functionality related to the EMR
- Provides expert and creative solutions to user requirements and problems by taking the initiative to research, resolve and respond to inquiries.
- Travels to business locations for training, implementation, and workflow analysis as needed.
- Researches technology and identifies ways to automate current processes or make necessary system enhancements/changes in order to streamline processes.
- Attends meetings, participates in workgroups, and/or serves on committees as needed.
- Provides guidance and support of the development of the training program for the EMR
- Works with the team, vendors, internal departments, and in-house IT staff to modify/enhance EMR applications and maintain system integrity.
- Builds, tests, debugs, and supports applications throughout the testing and implementation phases of upgrades, SU’s, and optimization projects.
- Responsible for maintaining system integrity.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Writes and develops technical documentation and/or workflow processes.
- Presents system functionality, workflows, and leads discussions in front of groups.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Experience: Two (2) or more years of relevant Epic system experience. Experience in one or more of the following preferred:
- Custom SmartForm build,
- Building/editing EAP, LRR, LWS masterfiles,
- Epic Text,
- Nurse Triage to include custom protocol build,
- 3rd party integration within Epic working with Hyland/OnBase, IMO,SnoMed,
- Epic ePrescribe ,
- Haiku/Canto,
- MyChart,
- Widescreen, Navigator build & WFE rules,

Certificate/License: Epic certification required, or certification obtained within one year of becoming an EMR Analyst II, and the certification must be maintained.
Work Location: Training and orientation at our Administrative facility. Work-from-home opportunities after ~90 days. Must reside in Texas and be willing to attend on-site training and occasional in-person department meetings in Austin, TX.
