Function:
To provide beautician services to the Independent Living Residents in the Beauty Salon. The Beautician assists Residents and family members through good communication, organization, creativity, and prioritization of tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Develops a personal relationship with Residents and their families while working in coordination with the Resident Services Concierge.
- Communicates and works with the Resident Services Concierge to keep the Beauty Salon inventoried and furnished with the necessary supplies and equipment to provide the services.
- Provide documentation of all services and fees charged to the Residents and Residents families, if needed.
- Maintain the Beauty Shop according to all applicable laws and regulations including maintenance of current license.
- Agrees to Covenant Villages schedule of charges. Charges will not be increased without consent of the company.
- Beautician acknowledges the understanding that the Beauty Salon is not the sole domain of the Beautician, and the company reserves the right to hire other Beauticians to work in the Beauty Salon.
- Attends In-service training as directed by the Resident Services Concierge.
- Champions the mission, vision, and core values of the community with all Staff, Residents and Families.
- Adheres to all Covenant Village policies and procedures.
Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED required. Maintain appropriate beautician license for services provided. Experience working with the elderly population is a plus. Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written), creativity and organization skills. Must be able to communicate clearly, politely and professionally with Residents, staff, families, and guests. Capable of adequately managing personnel and administrative responsibilities at the direction of the Resident Services Concierge. Able to read normal print (with or without corrective lenses). Must be agile, efficient, able to physically assist Residents, comfortable pushing and pulling Residents in a wheelchair and able to balance, climb, crouch, pull, push, reach, stand for long periods of time, stoop, lift 40 pounds, and perform repetitive movements. Able to follow instructions, give attention to detail and work well with others. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
