Job Description:
As a Shipping LTL Shipment Retriever, you will play a critical role in the Shipping/Receiving department by ensuring the efficient processing and retrieval of Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) shipments. Your responsibilities will include:
- Processing LTL shipments via computer systems.
- Expediting common carrier orders in a timely manner.
- Pulling products from shelves or pallets, processing paperwork, weighing boxes, and determining shipping categories.
- Loading trucks using forklifts or pallet jacks.
- Coordinating with various shipping companies to facilitate outgoing shipments.
Essential Functions:
- With minimal supervision, manage LTL shipping processes.
- Maintain an organized work area according to FIFO (First In, First Out) principles.
- Assist in the retrieval and organization of products within the warehouse.
- Communicate effectively with the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor for continuous process improvements.
Skills Required:
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer literate and capable of handling shipping systems.
- Must be able to read and write in English.
- Forklift operation certification is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds unassisted or 100 pounds with assistance.
- Capable of standing or walking for the entire shift.
