Our Financial Management Division, General Ledger Unit is searching for someone who is a phenomenal teammate, has an understanding of the accounting process and handle multiple assignments effectively and efficiently. In addition, if you happen to have Accounting software or strong knowledge of general ledger journal entries and accounting principles, this opportunity may be for you!
As a General Ledger Specialist, you will:
- Processes and posts entries to the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal).
- Reviews and analyzes contracts and approves purchase orders to ensure the appropriate documents are valid and in compliance.
- Receives and reviews monthly financial data and prepares reports.
- Performs special projects, including research and reporting.
- Assists in Year-End(YE) Financial Statements.

Minimum Requirements:
Accounting Officer Series - CalHR
Qualifications We're Looking For:
- Knowledge of Accounting Software (FI$CAL) and Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications, Excel, and Word.
- Strong Knowledge of processing and posting General Ledger journal entries, reviewing purchase orders, and ability to apply accounting principles and procedures.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments effectively and efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Ability to Provide excellent customer service to internal and external parties.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
