What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Operator L1 position at Covestic?
This is a 6 month contract with full time benefits and a possibility of extension.
As an entry-level Data Center Logistics Specialist L1, you will be working in a Data Center on a team of Data Center Logistics Specialists and Leads in collaboration with Data Center Lab Technicians. You will work Onsite Monday through Friday 7:00am to 4:00pm (MST) supporting inventory management, shipping and receiving activities, daily logistics activities, triaging support tickets, and documenting processes. You will also collaborate and communicate with adjacent Logistics Specialists, Data Center Lab Technicians, Leads, Engineering staff, Management, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products about information related to the products. You will support both local and regional teams with logistics-related requests and requirements. You will also be involved in inventory audits and be responsible for inventory discrepancies and remediation. Day-to-day, this person will be utilizing Sunbird, among other applications, to track incoming, current, and outbound assets. As an entry-level Data Center Logistics Specialist L1, you are expected to possess some knowledge and experience working in Data Centers, with inventory, logistics, and related knowledge.
Work Environment
The Data Center Logistics Specialist L1 will be expected to lift equipment of up to 50 pounds on a daily basis. They must also work well with teams and tight deadlines. This person will sit within a data center. Although this person will be working alongside a team of Data Center Lab Technicians inside multiple facilities, they must be comfortable working independently in storage rooms. It is critical that this person is very organized and can work in a quickly changing, fast-paced environment.

How You Will Make an Impact
- Collaborates and communicates with other Logistics Specialists, Data Center Lab Technicians, Engineering personnel, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products about information related to products.
- Management for outgoing/incoming assets in database repository.
- Work with hardware vendors, Asset Supply Management/engineering teams on the details of the orders and technical hardware configurations.
- Provide updates on gaps, issues, trending, other pertinent issues as day-to-day exceptions are addressed.
- Audit storage rooms to ensure accurate inventory and reporting is an essential function of this role.
- Perform monthly and quarterly asset audits in compliance with financial standards.
- Maintain knowledge related to hardware and optics, and shipping and receiving.
- Documenting and updating workflow related to storage rooms.
- Review open tasks and provide timely updates.
- Ensure compliance with the identified process to maintain an organized and tidy work environment
- Follow the '5S Pillars' methodology (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) for organizing, cleaning, developing, and sustaining a productive work environment
- Ensure compliance with e-waste storage and disposal standards within the data center
- Ensure compliance with environmental health and safety standards within the data center
- Ensure compliance with administrative directives
- Perform other tasks as directed by management
- Minimum 1 year in a related IT or Procurement coordinator role
- Minimum 1 year experience working in a warehouse, distribution center, or data center tracking and storing inventory as received.
- Experience with IT Asset Control
- Baseline understanding of server troubleshooting
- Minimum 1 year participating in audit activities
- Experience using an ITSM tool
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of computer applications preferably with Slack, Teams, Jira, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office Products
- Current valid driver's license and the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record Check
- Experience handling sensitive technical components
- Experience working with a manual pallet jack and other material handling equipment
- Able to mentor and train others
- Extremely detail oriented and well organized
- Self-starter and can work with ambiguity

- Certifications in technology specific areas, networking, or management preferred
