Covia is looking for a dynamic Operator who will have a positive impact on the Operations team at its Black Lab Serena location in Serena, IL.
The successful candidate will have the following Key Accountabilities:
- Wear negative-pressure half facepiece respirator and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while following safe work rules
- Weigh and measure raw materials according to detailed blend sheet
- Load materials into mixer manually and with forklift
- Prepare and affix labels for packaging
- Package, palletize, ship and receive products
- Practice preventative maintenance at all times
- Inform management of any problems with meeting daily customer requirements
- Maintain clean and safe work area
- Work with silica, cement, fly ash and other materials or chemicals
- Other duties may be assigned
The successful candidate will have the following Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- 2-3 years of experience required
- Safety awareness
- Basic knowledge of mathematics
- Good time-management skills
- Detail oriented
- Dependable
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a repetitive basis throughout the work-day
