Covia is looking for an immediate Bag Plant Operator for our plant in Thompson, OH (formerly R.W. Sidley).
$18/hr, set weekly schedule, average over 40 hours per week!
The successful candidate will have the following Key Accountabilities:
- Perform all duties in a safe manner, following all safety regulations and safe work practices and assuring all equipment has been inspected and is in a safe working condition
- Completing general construction labor tasks necessary to prepare and fill
50 lb. bags with sand or gravel.
- Stack and/or load bags of sand or gravel
- Taking work direction from Production Supervisor
- Working with other coworkers to make all production areas as efficient as possible
- Performing work in a timely manner to meet production deadlines
- Obeying all safety rules to make all duties performed as safe as possible
- Operate equipment in a safe and professional manner
- Additional duties as needed
The successful candidate will have the following Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Knowledge of basic tools and their uses
- Motivated, results oriented, and able to work in a team environment
- Ability to work well with others, be respectful, and respond to supervisor instructions
- Ability and willingness to work as many hours as necessary to accomplish duties.
- Basic math and reading skills
- Forklift or Skid Steer experience a plus
