As a key account sales manager, you will, manage the selling activities at multiple key accounts including direct customer contact, distributor management, and pricing and logistics for our products. As a key account sales manager, you will, manage the selling activities at multiple key accounts including direct customer contact, distributor management, and pricing and logistics for our products. This position is a key customer facing role with an emphasis on driving profitable growth.
The Successful Candidate Will Have The Following Critical Accountabilities
- Represent Covia as the primary sales contact at several key accounts across North America with a focus on driving profitable growth for our polymers business.
- Mange sales channels and opportunities across your customer base (i.e. third-party distributors, sales agents, affiliates, or direct).
- Monitor sales performance and recommend / implement changes to support and grow the business.
- Meet with ship-to and bill-to accounts (in-person, via phone, or virtual meetings) on a regular basis to discuss new and/or existing business.
- Communicate key company updates including lead times, industry investments, and production capabilities to your designated customer base often.
- Build a robust contact network at accounts to drive growth by aligning our capabilities with customer needs. This includes collaborating with marketing, technical, and operations contacts internally and externally.
- Follow up on all customer requests and provide satisfactory responses or solutions.
- Prospect for new opportunities and markets not currently supplied by Covia across your customer base.
- Contribute to innovation and product development ideas by identifying gaps in the market where Covia could potentially provide a solution.
- Meet or exceed SMART goals and Key Performance Indicators that will be determined and set through collaboration with executive leadership your direct manager.
- Travel domestically (occasional travel to Canada or Mexico may be required) on as-need basis with an expectation of approximately 50-60% travel.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Business, Sales, Engineering, or a related field required
- 10 years of progressive experience in the polymer / plastic industry required; 15 years of experience in Sales and Business Development in the polymer / plastic industry preferred.
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and enjoys a fast-paced environment.
