What are the responsibilities and job description for the Groundskeeper/Lawncare position at Covington County Hospital?
Duties/ Responsibilities:
1. Mows lawns, trims weeds, and rakes leaves as assigned.
2. Picks up and removes trash prior to mowing a designated area.
3. Empties trash and recycling containers.
4. Trims bushes, shrubs, and hedges.
5. Prepares soil and plants flowers, bushes, hedges, or shrubs.
6. Plants trees and prunes them when necessary.
7. Cuts and removes trees as needed.
8. Applies fertilizer, pesticides, and herbicides as directed.
9. Operates leaf blower to clear roads, driveways, and parking lots.
10. Performs routine maintenance on power equipment.
11. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
1. Ability to operate various types of power equipment including lawnmowers, trimmers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, and other landscaping equipment.
2. Ability to use hand tools required for landscaping.
3. Ability to follow instructions and complete assignments.
4. Extensive knowledge of landscaping techniques and processes.
5. Excellent time management skills.
Education and Experience:
1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. Previous experience preferred.
3. On-the-job training offered.
Physical Requirements:
1. Prolonged periods walking, standing, bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, or kneeling.
2. Must be physically able to operate power equipment.
3. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
4. Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
