Department Description:
A Food and Beverage Team Member is Guest service focused and provides exceptional service in the F&B Department. Exceptional Guest service entails being fast and efficient while still maintaining safety, being friendly, being accurate, and having great personal integrity and responsibility. The skills learned in the F&B Department will be of great value and applicable throughout the Team Members' life.
The Food and Beverage team has several positions that you may be interested in. Those positions include:
- Bartender (must be 18 years of age)
- Birthday Host
- Cabana Host
- Cabana Server (must be 18 years of age)
- Cashier
- Prep Cook
- Warehouse Support (must be 18 years of age)
Department Qualifications:
BARTENDER
- Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant guests.
- Interact with customers, take orders, and serve snacks and drinks.
- Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails.
- Plan and present the bar menu.
- Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets the legal drinking age.
- Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies.
- Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience.
- Comply with all food and beverage regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by Cowabunga Bay leadership.
BIRTHDAY HOSTS
- Experience working with children.
- Greets guests, gathers necessary tickets/supplies, provides seamless entry for the entire party, and assists throughout the duration of the party.
- Uses excellent judgment.
- Identifies problems and works quickly to find solutions.
- Works effectively with others, on all levels, in a positive and professional manner.
- Has excellent communication skills which include the ability to use clear, concise, and grammatically correct written and oral language in all aspects of interaction with Guests, Team Members, and Directors This position may require standing for long periods of time outdoors, exposed to the elements of nature, including but not limited to hot temperatures, direct sunlight, and rain.
- Interacts appropriately with children and Guests of all age groups.
- This position may require you to work in other positions, locations, and/or departments on an ad hoc basis.
- Complete any and all tasks given by Cowabunga Bay leadership.
CABANA HOST
- Must be flexible, adaptable, and a team player.
- Must follow all health department requirements and maintain a clean working environment.
- Keeps cabanas and loungers in a clean and orderly condition.
- Be knowledgeable of daily specials and in park events as well as general park information.
- Understands and supports the Cowabunga Bay Culture.
- Uses excellent judgement.
- Identifies problems and works quickly to find solutions.
- Works effectively with others, on all levels, in a positive and professional manner.
- Has excellent communication skills which includes the ability to use clear, concise, and grammatically correct written and oral language in interactions with Guests, fellow Team Members, and Management.

CABANA SERVER
- Our Cabana Server team consistently finds new ways to go above and beyond their duties every day.
- As a Cabana Server you are focused on providing exceptional Guest service to our most premium level of Guests in cabanas. Exceptional Guest service entails being fast and efficient while still maintaining safety, being friendly, being accurate, and having great personal integrity and responsibility.
- Our Cabana Servers will be Guest service driven, providing the highest level of personalized friendly table service which will include taking food and drink orders.
- Keep cabanas in a clean and orderly condition.
- Be knowledgeable of the specialty drink, beer and food menus and general park information.
CASHIER
- As a Cashier you are responsible for accepting payment for food items from the Guest while delivering a Friendly Howdy greeting.
- Ensuring that register totals are accurate.
- Up-selling targeted items.
- Cashiers will work in indoor locations, at outdoor carts, at refill locations, and in Catering, as needed.
PREP COOK
- You will be trained and placed in any of the restaurants throughout the park. Please keep in mind that you may be cross-trained/moved to help out other restaurants as needed.
- Must be willing to work grills, fryers, slicers (18 and over), and ovens.
- Prep food for service, dishes, and more.
FOOD AND BEVERAGE WAREHOUSE
- You will play a very important role in ensuring all Food & Beverage locations receive their orders as accurately and timely as possible.
- This position is physically demanding you will be responsible for receiving/checking in all food, beverage, paper, and chemical products accurately by verifying items against invoices and ensuring quality standard of food product and identifying sub-standard food product for return.
- Deliver food product and chemical supplies and fulfill restock lists to all Cowabunga Bay Food and Beverage locations.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by storing food products, beverage products, and alcohol product on designated shelves, rotating product as received, keeping isles clear, and following established safety standards, as well as safely operating company equipment to make deliveries throughout the waterpark.
- Assists in weekly and monthly inventories by counting products in various locations and completing the necessary paperwork.
- Operate company equipment including forklifts and/or pallet jacks.
General Qualifications:
- May be required to stand for long periods of time.
- May be required to lift at least 20-50 lbs.
- May be required to be exposed to direct sunlight, hot temperatures, or rain.
- Must be able to multi-task and be flexible in a fast-pace environment.
- Must be able to work well with others.
- Must be able to communicate effectively.
- Must be goal oriented and driven.
- Must follow any and all Cowabunga Bay guidelines or policies.
- This position may require you to work in other positions, locations, and/or departments on an ad hoc basis.
- Must have or be willing to obtain a Food Handler’s permit and TABC Certificate.
- Must be willing to complete any and all tasks given by Cowabunga Bay leadership.
