COMMERCIAL Vehicle/Chassis Mechanic – North Everett, WA
Based out of Whatcom County, Cowden Brother Trucking specializes in trucking needs. With a fast paced, busy, on site shop in Bellingham, WA, and one in North Everett, WA, our mechanics work on all aspects of commercial diesel truck repairs and maintenance. We are looking for a full-time mid-level Commercial Vehicle Mechanic to work day shift hours M-F, 6am – 4pm with overtime available. This position will perform DOT inspections, services, maintenance and repair work on 53’ container chassis in our Everett, WA shop located at the rail yard in Everett as well as on site at various contracted locations throughout the I-5 corridor. Candidates with the right training and skills, will also aid our truck drivers in need of roadside service. This position will have the opportunity to work on diesel truck maintenance, depending on experience.

COMMERCIAL MECHANIC JOB DUTIES OVERVIEW
- Perform routine services and maintenance (lube, oil change, 6/12/36 month services)
- Maintain, repair and lube chassis on site and using mobile service truck at off site locations
- Perform vehicle inspections compliant with DOT regulations and complete corresponding paperwork
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with accuracy and in a timely manner
- Develop repair plan to ensure a complete, safe and timely repair
- Perform diesel truck mechanical repairs
- Navigate electronic Parts System Database to locate and bill parts according to unit in repair
- Complete parts order request forms to include judgement calls on tagging out units
- Maintain an organized and clean work area
- Must always be safety conscious, especially when using powered equipment, maneuvering equipment/vehicles, must warn others before performing repairs that will include loud noise, sparks or fumes. Wear eye and ear protection as required.
- Complete tasks as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to read and create work orders in English
- Mid-level mechanical experience
- Knowledge of machines/tools used for repair and maintenance of diesel trucks and chassis
- Trade school training (preferred)
- CDL (a plus)
- Welding skills (required)
- Eligibility to work in the US
