General PurposePlans the daily work assignments of Parks, Cemetery, and Facility Maintenance Crews.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This information is intended to be descriptive of the principal duties and responsibilities of the position. The following examples do not identify all duties performed by any single incumbent.Determines work procedure, assigns work schedules, and expedites workload of parks, cemetery, and facility maintenance crews.Oversees quality control of work performed.Maintains grounds by picking up debris, trimming trees, mowing grass, changing trash bags in trashcans, landscaping grounds, repairing playground equipment, picnic tables, cleaning restrooms, new construction, concrete mason, and heavy equipment operations.Maintains facilities by performing carpentry work, painting, replacing light bulbs, making plumbing repairs performs concrete and masonry work and repairs, and performs other duties as assigned.Helps control vegetation and growth; prepares, applies and properly disposes of pesticides.Performs other duties by maintaining equipment, operating heavy equipment, installing upgraded equipment and assisting other departments as needed.Coordinates and works with all city departments, civic organizations, state and federal departments in maintaining existing and in the development of future parks.Investigates customer complaints relative to policies and procedures.Ensures the maintenance, accountability and general upkeep of tools and equipment.Enforces safety procedures, City policies, and work rules.Assists supervisor with safety and operational training.Assists supervisor with personnel evaluations.Keeps supervisors informed of work progress, equipment issues, customer complaints and personnel issues.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Peripheral Duties: Responds to emergencies, after hour and call outs.Required to be on standby.Serves as a member of various committees as needed.Other duties as assigned
