General Definition of Work
Performs intermediate skilled administrative support work processing civil papers, providing court security, preparing and maintaining files and records, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Chief Constable.

Essential Functions
Serves summons, court orders, notices, distress warrants, claims and deliveries, evictions, witness subpoenas, capias and other legal papers.
Processes notices and conducts ejection and eviction processes.
Performs security duties for Court sessions and/or the Court buildings.
Verifies addresses and determines correct addresses when the individual named in papers to be served has moved.
Maintains required records and completes required reports.
Mails notices and papers when appropriate.
Encourages and promotes a culture of excellent service.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
General knowledge of the street system and geography of the County; some knowledge of the laws and procedures of civil process; ability to exercise tact and judgment and to deal courteously but firmly with the public; ability to solve problems within scope of responsibility; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED and minimal experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements
This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force; work regularly requires speaking or hearing and using hands to finger, handle or feel, frequently requires standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms and repetitive motions and occasionally requires sitting, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, pushing or pulling and lifting; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work occasionally requires exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).

Favorable background history as determined by review of Local, State and Federal records
Valid driver’s license in the State of Georgia with a favorable driving history (MVR)
