General Definition of Work
Performs administrative support work receiving, processing and delivering mail, packages and supplies, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the assigned supervision.

Essential Functions
Picks up, sorts and distributes mail and supplies.
Collects outgoing mail, processes, packs and delivers mail to post office.
Delivers mail and other items to local government offices.
Collects and delivers return mail and materials.
Collects bank deposits from departments as assigned; transports and ensures safety of deposit to bank.
Performs light maintenance and custodial duties.
Encourages and promotes a culture of excellent service.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
General knowledge of office terminology, procedures and equipment; thorough knowledge of postal methods and regulations; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates; ability to operate light automotive vehicles safely.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements
This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force; work regularly requires standing, walking and speaking or hearing, frequently requires using hands to finger, handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms and pushing or pulling and occasionally requires sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, lifting and repetitive motions; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work occasionally requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions and exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
Special Requirements
Favorable background history as determined by review of local, State and Federal records.
Valid driver’s license in the State of Georgia with a favorable driving history (MVR).
