POSITION: Receiving Supervisor
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager
OVERVIEW: This position is responsible for the logistic flow of many broad facility processes, including oversight of the hauling and placement of all full and empty bulk bin inventories off-site storage facilities and bin lots. A strong emphasis on personnel management and effectiveness is important. This position is also responsible for maintaining orderly appearances and general upkeep of all facilities which include but not limited to weed control, snow removal and rubbish pickup.
Position requires consistent communication and collaboration with all company departments and staff members. Must be prepared to respond to last minute production demands or production related challenges as well as regulatory protocol and audit necessities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Manage trucks and drivers to meet production bin inventory needs for hauling deliveries from storages to warehouse packing vicinity
· Work with other departments to identify best location for bulk bin room staging and communicate plan to all parties involved
· Assist in pulling quality samples as needed from CA storage facility or out of bins during the loading and unloading/staging process
· Work with other departments to identify the best location for processor bin storage and communicate plan to all parties involved
· Work with Tree Top and other apple processor brokers to move inventories of processor fruit while maximizing sale price and hauling arrangements for the best interest of CGI and its grower members
· Plan for and facilitate segregation and proper storage of all empty bins
· Manage bin repair operations and find opportunities to integrate excess staff towards this process
· Manage off-site and non-production related forklift driver crews with an emphasis on customer (grower) service and minimal overtime
· Maintain efficient and orderly facility grounds at main plant and all off-site areas, including but not limited to:
o Effective snow removal plan and equipment assignments
o Timely and effective weed control program
o Gravel and level drive, parking and bin lot spaces as needed
o Responsible for overall order and cleanliness/junk removal of all sites including garbage, old equipment/parts, broken bins, and pallets, etc.
· Harvest season – bulk fruit receiving oversight with an added emphasis and focus on Quality Control oversight of all harvest receiving processes
o Main plant and off-site forklift crews
o Trucks and drivers
o Outside trucking company services
o Assist in-house QC department with fruit quality sample pulls and placement
o Ensure the accuracy of the bin scanning/inventory process, working with IT and Production teams as necessary to minimize mis-reporting scenarios
o Train and hold forklift drivers accountable on use of handheld scanner devices
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
