Summary: Under the general supervision of the Quality supervisor, the Quality inspector ensures products and processes meet Cowles quality standards by inspecting production materials and processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Quarantine and troubleshoot all line reject material and assemblies.
- Test and diagnose field returns by following the company’s warranty procedures.
- Maintain the warranty log database.
- Incoming inspection of selected purchased material.
- Random quality audit of residential oil burners to assess product quality.
- In-process production line inspection as necessary.
- First Article inspection of welding department parts prior to production startup.
- Make suggestions for efficiency or quality improvements to production processes.
- Recommend repairs or replacement to defective or worn assembly equipment.
- Utilize tools like calipers, gauges, micrometers, and electronic inspection equipment to measure and test products.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and procedures.
- Perform other assigned duties as directed.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma and minimum of 1-year previous experience in a similar role.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
