The Patient Services Representative plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional customer service to patients, both in person and via telephone. This role encompasses a wide range of tasks, including appointment scheduling, patient check-ins, payment handling, data collection, verifying patient eligibility for insurance and healthcare programs, guiding patients and visitors, and carrying out administrative duties.
Central to the Patient Services Representative's role is the establishment of professional and respectful relationships with patients, contributing to their holistic health improvement and enhanced quality of life. The PSR's work environment is fast-paced, requiring a friendly demeanor, a strong dedication to service, adept decision-making abilities, and the capacity to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
- Hourly Rate: $19.83 - $21.36 per hour DOE
- Monday Through Friday - 8 Hours Per Day; 1.0 FTE

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
DESIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 1-3 years of previous customer service, administrative support, or office experience. Prefer experience to be in a comparable setting to the position filled.
- Proficient in medical, dental, nutrition, behavioral health, or other terminology pertinent to the position and to outpatient social service office procedures.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn in-house programs, including EHR system.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a low-income, multi-ethnic patient population and relate respectfully and effectively to people of diverse racial, educational, and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Must be a confident, self-directed individual who can work within a team as well as independently.
- Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, utilizing concise and comprehensive documentation with strong technical writing and record-keeping skills.
- Knowledge of evidence-based preventive health, chronic disease, primary care, behavioral health, dental care, and/or nutrition as applicable to the position
- Background in customer service, patient education, and lifestyle risk reduction.
- Possess and maintain valid driver’s license.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Salary : $20 - $21
