Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tool Room Manager to oversee the operations of our tool room. This role is critical in ensuring that all tools and equipment are maintained, organized, and available for production needs. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and experience in supplier management, data analysis, and materials handling. You will be responsible for managing inventory, sourcing new tools, and optimizing processes to enhance efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Leads toolmakers that perform mold repairs in support of the injection molding department and provides assembly-tooling support to assembly operations for multiple sites.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify issues related to tool performance and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee supplier management, including sourcing new suppliers and negotiating contracts for tools and materials.
- Utilize data analysis skills to monitor tool usage and inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock levels are maintained.
- Implement category management strategies to streamline tool procurement processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand tooling requirements and ensure timely availability of tools.
- Maintain accurate records of all tools, including tracking usage, maintenance schedules, and inventory levels.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations in the tool room environment.
Experience
- 4-7 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Journeyman's License preferred
- 5 plus years supervisory experience in a toolroom environment preferred..
- Proficiency in data analysis with the ability to interpret complex data sets for decision-making.
- Experience with sourcing tools and managing supplier relationships effectively.
- Familiarity with contract management related to procurement of tools and materials.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
