Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Counselors to join our team. The ideal candidates will possess a strong background in clinical counseling and be skilled in various therapeutic techniques. This role involves providing support and guidance to individuals facing mental health challenges, facilitating group therapy sessions, and conducting clinical research to enhance treatment methodologies. The Counselor will work closely with clients in an outpatient setting and, ensuring that each individual receives personalized care tailored to their unique needs.
Duties
- Manage a case load of approximately22-25 clients per week.
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices to support client recovery.
- Implement behavior management strategies to assist clients in coping with their challenges.
- Complete comprehensive mental health and substance misuse assessments and treatment plans that link goals and objectives to diagnostic impressions.
- Engage in clinical research initiatives aimed at improving therapeutic approaches and outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and treatment plans in compliance with ICD-9 standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans that address the diverse needs of clients.
- Offer specialized counseling services addressing gender issues, utilizing sensitivity and understanding of diverse backgrounds.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of behavior management techniques and crisis intervention strategies.
- Proficiency in facilitating group therapy sessions that foster a supportive environment for participants.
- Familiarity with clinical research methodologies and the ability to apply findings to practice.
- Understanding of ICD-9 coding for accurate documentation and billing purposes.
- Ability to address gender issues within counseling sessions, demonstrating cultural competence and sensitivity.
- Ability to address the needs of underserved populations, such as veterans, persons who are pretrators of and victims of sexually harming behaviors.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with clients effectively.
