Job Description

The Systems Administrator II position is an IT professional whose skills, experience, and basic understanding of operations and support is vital in functioning as the liaison between the business and technology teams. Basic troubleshooting, triaging, and resolving priority issues/requests within the integration points of the ICOMS ecosphere is required.

Primary ICOMS Integration Support applications include ICOMS Gateways/web services, Provisioning Interfaces (video, CHSI, wireless, etc), Eventing, NRM, ICOMS GUI, IAC and Connection Manager as well as other key in house ICOMS applications and support of those applications at the server level.

In addition to operations support, they will also help maintain all internal documentation, assist with the maturation of monitoring and tools needed to support these areas effectively, and continue reliable delivery of these services for our customers.

This position is part of a Production Operations & Support group and therefore should be assumed that the individual will participate in any operational rotations such as on-call assignment and off-hour deployments/maintenances as well as production issue resolution calls.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Oversee and provide Tier 3 platform, application, and integration support.
  • Routine support the build and support of several ICOMS internal applications, like Drop Ship and PPV.
  • Troubleshoot applications, leveraging in-depth knowledge of system functionality and business logic.
  • Monitor platforms and applications for errors and performance issues.
  • Ability to contribute to outage triaging to successful conclusion.
  • Function as liaison between business and Technology teams and interpret requests/issues into technical or non-technical terms.
  • Ensuring Operational requirements (e.g., Event Engineering, Monitoring) are included in all technology projects.
  • Utilize tools such MS SQL, Putty, Filezilla, SOA Test tool and SQL developer.
  • Work closely with technology business partners, Field Operations, Customer Care and NetCracker on new product requirements to support application life cycle from development through implementation to support.
  • Ensuring Knowledge Base documentation is captured to help standardize problem resolution work and Tier 2 team training needs
  • Enforce Information Security procedures and compliance across IT systems and services


Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 2 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and up to 2 years' experience; or 6 years' experience in a related field
  • ICOMS experience with configuration, support or order flow management.
  • Working knowledge of Service provisioning.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose application issues and identify root cause.
  • Able to write and execute SQL queries
  • Able to work with minimal direction and in a team environment
  • Verbal, written and collaboration skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization in high stress situations (outage bridges)


Preferred:

  • Requires working knowledge of APM tools (such as New Relic or Splunk), SQL, ICOMS, Linux and/or Windows environments
  • Knowledge of current wireless products and processes a benefit.


Ability to be on call (i.e. as part of on-call rotation) and work occasionally on weekends\after hours.
