Aerospace Part Estimator
Purpose:
Create and prepare cost estimates for products, services, or projects to help management set prices or bid on work. The Estimator provides accurate and timely quotes for aerospace parts.
Education & Experience:
- Aerospace, cost estimating or relative experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry.
Job Responsibilities:
- Gather past cost data to estimate costs for new products or projects.
- Work with clients, vendors, and team members to create estimates and solve any issues.
- Prepare estimates to help management plan and organize work.
- Analyze blueprints and other documents to estimate time, costs, materials, and labor.
- Discuss changes to estimates with engineers, architects, contractors, and other parties.
- Track actual costs against estimates to assess project efficiency.
- Create estimates for choosing vendors or subcontractors.
- Set up systems to monitor and report costs.
- Manage the process for submitting bids.
- Keep an updated list of suppliers and contractors.
- Decide if it’s more cost-effective to produce or buy materials and components.
- Conduct studies to improve cost efficiency or reduce costs.
- Perform other tasks as needed.
