Outside Plant (OSP) Compliance Technician - Remote (2024-7829)

OSP Compliance Technician inspect, evaluate, and analyze aerial and underground facilities for compliance with applicable internal and external safety and regulatory standards. This role provides occasional repair guidance and suggestions, contributes to the entry and maintenance of asset compliance management database systems, and works with others to ensure compliance. OSP Compliance Technicians understand and apply Cox Communications construction standards, as well as applicable asset owner, state, and federal standards. They monitor and maintain inspection schedules and provide quality assurance of the Locate vendor's performance on compliance repairs as directed. Compliance employees ensure that the COX network is built safely throughout the system and when working on correcting infractions that safety and cost reduction are key. This is a temporary 12-month assignment. 

40 hours per week ; Work will be in 8am-5pm CST

• Inspects Outside Plant based on applicable schedules
• Understands applicable Cox, State, NESC standards and regulations
• Understands high-risk geographic regions and driving factors
• Assigns infractions with the relevant level of severity
• Enters information into the database
• May review make-ready work with contractors
• May issue work to construction contractors
• May issue work to Locate vendors
• May coordinate the Cox Service Drop conversions – getting off jump poles (if so desired) or other poles where clearances cannot be met to remove a violation
• May participate in ordering materials for various vendors and/or forecasting material needs
• Inspects and QC’s Contractor work
• Completes as-built mapping
• May assist in Locating and QCing (quality control) of Cox facilities

• HS diploma, GED, or relevant work experience
• A minimum of 3 or more years of experience in a related field (e.g. OSP Construction; Field Ops)
• Coaxial and Fiber Design experience
• Organizational Skills
• Ability to be flexible with start times
• Communication Skills both written and through online meetings
• Ability to read and understand printed and digital telecommunication utility maps
• Ability to operate computers with Microsoft applications as well as other as-needed software related to construction services

• Remote ; 8am-5pm CST
• This role can be in any Cox market however they must have an internet connection to perform the work necessary for the project.

• $35-$40/hr
