The ED Operations Facilitator provides a variety of clerical duties and has the ability to cover all aspect of the department. Duties may include collecting of money due, posting of money collected, responsible for monies collected, closing out and balancing at the end of each day; Photocopying, faxing, filing, answering telephones, computer data entry and other duties as assigned. Registers all new patients and enters insurance code, policy, group, etc. The ED Operations Facilitator is a team member whose function is to assist with direct patient care procedures. This role is imperative in assisting to maintain efficient flow and through put in the department. They also maintain an adequate level of supplies/equipment to provide immediate and effective patient care.

Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Preferred: 1-2 Years Related Experience

Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong emphasis on phone etiquette.

Able to work independently and collaboratively in teams.

Self-starter with ability to multi-task and detail oriented.

Proficient in using computers and multiple computer systems

Maintains a working knowledge of credit card payment transactions and appropriately utilizes the required programs for registering, and admissions, as directed

Demonstrates knowledge of project/specialized jobs and performs all functions utilizing organizational and priority setting skills.

Perform EKG’s, obtains weights and vital signs, ortho splints, wound care, assist providers and nurses with procedures. Prepares patients for appropriate physical exam/surgery, visual acuity, stocks supplies, specimen collection, meets comfort and psychosocial needs of patients.

Ability to work in a high stress environment.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Required: BLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire

Hazmat First Receivers training must be obtained within 1 year of hire

De-escalation training must be obtained within 1 year of hire
