Job Summary

The Internal Agency Certified Surgical Tech is a system-level role who provides direct and individualized care to acutely and critically ill patients across all hospital procedural locations within the organization. This position will be scheduled per system nursing needs, including weekends and holidays, and thus will not participate in self-scheduling.Direct care staff are required to complete all Hip and Knee Replacement Program curriculum and annual education module(s) assigned.A member of the healthcare team who functions under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and performs a variety of technical and supportive functions to assist with the care of the patient throughout their perioperative phase of hospitalization utilizing hospital/departmental standards, policies, protocols and procedures

Required: Graduate from a school of Surgical Technology or 5 years' experience as a Surgical Technologist.Required: Credentialed by the ABSA or CAAHED as a certified first assistant/certified surgical technologist or certified surgical assistant having graduated from an accredited program en route to certification with proof of eligibility to take exam for certification

Required: 2 years previous hospital and/or work experience as a Surgical TechnologistRequired: Previous hospital and/or work experience as a Surgical Technologist for 36 months before First Assistant Program.
