An employee who has clinical expertise in the application of the nursing process and theory in the area of traumatology. Primary goals of the individual in this role include monitoring trauma care across the continuum from pre-hospital care to rehabilitation as it applies, through trauma rounds and chart reviews as well as collection of trauma patient outcome data. In addition, this individual will participate in the planning and implementing of clinical protocols and practice guidelines related to trauma care. Serves as an internal resource for staff in all departments through trauma education, assists in the development and community education/injury prevention programs.

Required:

Graduate of an approved nursing program

Achieve and maintain 24 hours of trauma related education each year with 6 of those hours related to Pediatric Trauma

Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in nursing

Experience

Preferred: 3 years of trauma-related experience
