The oncology support services department’s main focus is to meet the needs of patients seeking care in our outpatient oncology clinics. Our team is comprised of healthcare professionals who work together to address patients’ barriers to care, advance our cancer program and provide a great experience for patients and staff alike.

Job Summary
-
The Oncology Nurse Navigator is responsible for program development, oversight and coordination of care for assigned oncology patient populations. The navigator works in collaboration with all hospital and oncology service areas, the cancer committee and sub-committees and task forces established to provide effective care planning and provision. The navigator assists patients with appointment coordination and scheduling to facilitate smooth progression of definitive diagnosis and treatment planning; attends patients’ physician appointments, as necessary, ensuring patient understands all aspects of their disease and treatment plan. In addition to patient care duties, the navigator compiles necessary documentation for weekly case presentation at cancer conference, and assists the care team with survivorship care planning process.

Required: Graduate of an approved nursing program

Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in nursing, business or health related field

Required: Three years clinical experience in oncology or medical/surgical nursing

Ability to work a flexible schedule
