Overview of Unit/Department
200 Medical-Surgical is a 56 bed non-telemetry unit that accepts patients from the Emergency Department, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit, all of the critical care units, and directly from physicians’ offices. Our patients range in age from young adults – 100 years of age. This unit primarily specializes in surgical, medical & gynecological/oncology patients. Our surgical population includes hysterectomies, mastectomies, small bowel resections, oncology related surgeries and much more. Our unit does chemotherapy on a regular basis.

- $25,000 Sign-On Bonus

The Medical-Surgical nurse is responsible for managing the care of the adult or geriatric patient experiencing general medical conditions or general surgical procedures. The nurse must be able to assess patient condition, administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, keep records and provide patients and families with support and education. The Medical-Surgical nurse maintains a wide array of medical care knowledge in order to care for a diverse group of patients.

Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
