Job Summary
-
This armed position manages an operational shift of CoxHealth security officers dedicated to the safety and security of an assigned geographical area within the health system. The Sergeant practices effective problem identification, applies preventative, protective, and defensive tactics, seeks appropriate solutions, and requests assistance as necessary. The sergeant documents observations and actions in department reports. This position supports department leaders in running the department’s day-to-day support functions.

Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience

Required: 2 years of related security or law enforcement experience.

Required: Must be 21 years of age.

Required: Must meet Requirements for Operating Vehicles Owned by CoxHealth System Policy, which includes no serious driving violations during the past five years. Serious violations are defined in the CoxHealth System Policy.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Required: Active Driver’s License

Required: Complete department specific training to carry firearms within 30 days of hire

Required: Must obtain IAHSS Security Supervisor certification within 90 days of hire

Preferred: Completion of the Missouri POST Licensure requirements
