We are looking for a new member of our engineering team who is looking for a stable and productive work environment, with emphasis on long-term employment. The role is primarily quality/process engineering, issue resolution, and some manufacturing improvements. The position charter is to continuously improve and document processes and training systems. The PQE will be a key supporter of the execution of the Quality Management System working with a small team of technicians and inspectors.
The ideal candidate possesses both a high level of technical expertise in the field of quality assurance in a manufacturing environment and project team leadership experience. The position requires someone who is self-motivated and capable of prioritizing the needs of internal quality and external customer quality. Role Responsibilities
- Provide Quality Engineering support for the overall quality system and the future development thereof.
- Support a team of quality assurance inspectors and technicians.
- Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigate customer issues and complaints relating to quality. Respond appropriately as needed internally and externally.
- Measure, record, and report key activities to meet quality assurance objectives using data acquisition and visual management tools.
- Support the continual development and maintenance of Coxreels’ proprietary interactive document and training system, controlling all manufacturing process and assembly procedure documentation.
- Provide consistent product evaluation, coordination, and support of key testing, compliance, and certification programs.
- Provide and oversee inspection activity for products throughout the production cycle.
- Resolve manufacturing and production issues with the team, recommend optimum processes, training, techniques, and determine dispositions.
- Support the interpretation and sharing of quality assurance philosophy to key personnel within the company.
Qualifications, Abilities, & Experience Needed
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, industrial, or manufacturing engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 5 years of general quality field experience in a manufacturing environment. 2 years of supervisory experience in the quality field is a plus.
- Thorough knowledge of quality assurance principles, and practical application of them, with the ability to make sound decisions based upon them.
- Required abilities include interpretation of mechanical drawings, inspection and measurement of physical components, investigatory process development, along with typical engineering related MS office skills.
- Software skills and creativity capable of developing clear and simple documentations and instructions. Use of creative software such as Adobe Suite is a plus.
- Knowledge of (Statistical) Process Control and supportive software is a plus.
- Cooperative manufacturing related communication skills are required in both office and production areas, and professional behavior with coworkers, vendors, and customers is expected.
- Physical ability to function and perform duties in a manufacturing environment.
- Good attitude and resilient personality equipped to deal with typical production and relationship challenges found in manufacturing environments.
- Lean Six Sigma Certification a plus.

Appropriate safety equipment is required by area. There is potential exposure to different hazards. A considerable amount of moving from department to department may occur in unfavorable weather conditions typical of Arizona. The employee is exposed to the inherent dangers of the materials and equipment used in Coxreels manufacturing processes.
