What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crossing Guard position at Coyote Canyon Elementary School?
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma, G.E.D. or one (1) year of verifiable experience in a like position.
Able to demonstrate an aptitude for the work to be performed.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Principal
JOB GOAL: To assist student(s) in crossing streets safely.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To direct students to cross streets at a designated location at an appropriate and safe time.
- Report vehicle offenders to the Transportation Supervisor.
- Refrains from directing traffic.
- Confers with the Transportation Supervisor/Principal on matters of safety and concern.
- Attends safety meetings as requested.
- Places portable signs within the highway 30 minutes before school begins. Removes the signs once again after students have left for the day. “School is in Session” signs are to be placed not more that 300 feet from the crossing. “Stop when children in Crosswalk” sign is to be placed at the crossing.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Nine-month year. Hourly rate and workdays to be established by the Board approved schedules.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in
accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on
Evaluation of Support Staff.
Salary : $15 - $18
