Description
Summary:
The Equipment Operator is responsible for operating the motorized equipment and vehicles on the golf course.
Essential job functions:
- Operate equipment including, but limited to, trucks, gang mowers, tractor-drawn mowers, mechanical sand rakes, triplex and 5-gang self-contained mowing units
- Maintains and makes minor adjustments to equipment
- Change cups and tee makers and maintains ball washers, hazard stakes and traffic control rope
- Applies pesticides and fertilizer, as needed
- Perform Greenskeeper duties, as needed
- Walk mow greens.
- Assist golf superintendents in monitoring conditions of golf course.
- Operates fairways and rough units.
- Operates all large tractors
Requirements
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to frequently sit, stand, bend, kneel, walk and crouch
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and to lift overhead and push/pull, move lighter objects.
- The co-worker can be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to wildlife such as snakes, scorpions, spiders, bees and hornets
Qualifications:
- Valid Drivers’ License.
- Previous golf equipment operating experience preferred.
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job.
