JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for assisting with day to day operations of the club. Works closely with the Head Golf Professional and 1st Assistant Golf Professionals to ensure the best possible golf experience for members and guests.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Registers golfers for their tee times, checks in customers, takes payment and assigns golf carts. Maintains accurate logs.
- Opens and closes pro shop per club standard operating procedures including register set-up and/or closing.
- Cashes out members/customers; maintains and monitors the front counter. Processes all sales following proper money handling procedures.
- Stocks, tags and displays merchandise on golf shop floor ensuring all merchandise is neatly arranged and restocked to proper level.
- Assists with managing play ensuring acceptable pace of play and professional golf environment.
- Maintains the cleanliness of the pro shop.
- Handles member and guest requests, complaints and inquiries with composure and in a timely professional manner.
- Promotes the interest in the sport of golf and the use of the course.
- Assists with planning, organizing and directing golf tournaments for members and outside organizations.
- Assists with monthly physical merchandise count.
- Maintains neat, well groomed, professional appearance and demeanor.
- Demonstrates a commitment to the work and success of the club and the Company by being service- and solution-oriented, having positive interactions with all club staff and members/guests, and meeting established quality, service and safety expectations.
- Performs additional assignments per the direction of club or Company managers.
- Regular and punctual attendance on site for all scheduled shifts is required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

- Has knowledge of the organization and pro shop operations.
- Understands the rules of golf, the equipment used and golf tournament organization.
- Has knowledge of practice facility operation and management.
- Effective communication skills orally and in writing.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft computer programs, tee time and POS systems.
- Able to provide a high level of customer service with attention to detail.
- Can compute simple math and count change accurately.
WORK HOURS AND CONDITIONS
Work hours may include early mornings and evenings on weekdays, weekends and holidays. Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions. May be exposed to inclement (non-threatening) weather, plant protection products, fertilizers, misdirected golf balls, and sharp and rapid equipment movement on a daily basis. Injury may result as a result of exposure to the above if safety policies and practices are not properly followed.
REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent
- Ability and interest to enroll in PGA Apprentice program

- Seeing and hearing: read documents, computer screen, answer phones, communicate in person 50-100%
- Standing and walking 25-100%
- Climbing, stooping, squatting and kneeling 50-24%
- Dexterity: utilizing phone, typing, and writing 0-24%
