CNC Swiss Lathe Machine Set-up Technician (Manufacturing)
Position Summary:
Set up and operate CNC machining functions, including bar feeder, to produce high-precision components.
Key Responsibilities
Print Reading
Inspect, interpret, and apply customer drawings, understanding geometric tolerancing and measurement symbols.
Apply this knowledge to program, set up, and inspect parts accurately.
Inspection
Ensure parts meet customer drawing specifications through regular 1st piece and in-process inspections.
Machining Operations
Perform offset programming, edit machine settings, and maintain equipment for optimal performance. Adjust and fine-tune machines as needed.
Provide routine maintenance, such as oil filling and tool replacement.
Set Up
Expertly set up bar feeders, machines, collets, bushings, gang tools, front drilling, C-spindles, ejector pins, and back tools.
Configure all aspects of CNC machines efficiently and accurately.
Programming
Edit programs to ensure proper operation, using G-functions and M codes.
Proofread and interpret program logic and tool movement.
Create accurate and functional tools, drills, etc., for CNC machines.
Fully understand tool geometries and their applications.
Production
Prioritize machine utilization for maximum efficiency and quality output.
Produce high-quality components according to established production schedules.
Additional Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineer/Production Manager to address additional responsibilities and ensure quality manufacturing standards are met.
