MECHANICAL DESIGNER
Position SummaryProvide mechanical layout and design support for complex electronic systems andindustrial enclosures, using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MS Word, MS Excel, Adobe PDF andother software. Produce, release, and update all types of engineering drawings includingfabrication, bills of materials, assembly, and schematics.
Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesCreate complex engineering design layouts of parts and assemblies from engineeringspecifications, component data sheets, schematics, bills of materials (BOM), etc.Modify released drawings and BOM's via internal Engineering Change Notice processExecute judgment concerning dimensioning and tolerance, materials and finishselections, manufacturing costs, and in general, sound mechanical design practicesPrepare detail manufacturing drawings for fabrication and assemblyInterface with other engineers, production personnel, and suppliers to achieve product design successAssist in training and supervision of junior draftersProvide support to Production for solutions to manufacturing problemsExperience Requirements
Minimum 3 - 5 years of directly related experienceMust have excellent knowledge of good engineering drawing practices and be familiar with military and industry standardsMust be proficient with SolidWorks and be familiar with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and Adobe softwareMust have strong organization and communication skillsMust be able to work with minimal supervision
Physical Requirements
Must be able to climb stairs, sit, keyboard, see, hear and read / speak English fluently
Education
Associates degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or commensurate experience
