TECHNICAL WRITER
Job SummaryInterface with company personnel to produce high-quality technical documentation that is appropriate for its intended audience. Coordinate generation of manuals with outside contract services and inside support personnel.
Follow established departmental procedures for generation and control of technical manuals.
Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesParticipate in hands on generation of technical documentation and perform technical writing duties as necessary for new product maintenance manuals consisting of installation, operation, troubleshooting, and illustrated parts breakdown sectionsMaintain / update established documentationObserve production, developmental and experimental activities to determine operating procedure and detail or standard practicesConduct interviews with production and technical staff to gather data for documentationImport Autocad drawings into maintenance manuals utilizing Adobe IllustratorMonitor and report status of work in processOther duties assignedRequired Skills and Experience
Strong technical, organizational, and communication (written and verbal) skillsDetail oriented, able to prioritize tasks and have demonstrated experience in desktop publishing productionExcellent knowledge in reading and interpreting engineering drawingsWell organized and possesses ability to set priorities based on company objectivesGood judgement and problem-solving abilities.Working knowledge and experience with personal computers using Microsoft Excel, Word, AutoCAD, Adobe FrameMaker (2017) and Illustrator softwareAbility to work a flexible schedule as required to meet deadlinesMinimum 5 years directly related experience
Physical Requirements
Must have the ability to climb stairs, walk, sit, stand, file, keyboard for several hours consecutively, see, hear, and speak / understand English. This position works onsite.
