Job Description
The Leave Specialist is responsible for administering the leave policies and procedures, including the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and state and local leave laws. The Leave Specialist will also provide support to employees and managers / clients regarding leave-related issues, directly, as well as support Onboarding operations as needed.
Responsibilities
Administer leave policies and procedures, including the FMLA, the ADA, and state and local leave laws
- Process leave / accommodation requests and documentation
- Gather and analyze information to determine employee eligibility for leave
- Approve or deny leave requests, using sound, inclusive reasoning and judgment.
- Communicate with employees and managers / clients regarding leave-related issues.
- Provide training to employees and managers / hr on leave policies and procedures.
- Maintain leave records and reports
- Stay up-to-date on changes to leave laws and regulations
- Demonstrate first call resolution for incoming calls / Voicemail returns timely
- Creation of client specific leave policies and workflows in leave management platform
- Written communication and form creation for clients based on company specific policies and requirements
- Must be able to demonstrate strong team collaboration
