What are the responsibilities and job description for the Composites Technician I (4PM-1AM) position at CP Industries?
Description/Job Requirements:
1. Must be mechanically inclined with excellent manual dexterity.
2. Ability to read and understand operating manuals and written procedures, and to accurately and efficiently perform the functions described therein.
3. Qualified to perform multiple Composite Cylinder functions including (but not limited to) liner inspection/preparation, hydro/leak testing, cycle testing, hydrostatic burst testing, and packaging/shipping.
5. Must demonstrate proficiency in equipment troubleshooting, quality assurance, inspection, testing, raw material and finish goods lifting & handling, fork truck and crane operation, TPM and preventative maintenance, LEAN, OEE, 5S, technical training of colleagues, production and quality assurance documentation, and general housekeeping.
6. Ability to work full (eight hour) shifts plus overtime in an upright, standing position within a manufacturing environment.
7. Ability to manually lift sixty (60) pounds from floor to shoulder height.
8. Ability to efficiently and effectively work without constant supervision.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Achieve all Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost daily/weekly objectives.
2. Demonstrate compliance with all Composite Cylinder Fabrication Safety, Quality, Production and General policies, procedures, and practices.
3. Utilize the electronic production and inspection reporting system provided in order to confirm material identities, acceptance/rejection of cylinders, and inspection data related to the operations performed.
4. Comply with all CP Industries verbal leadership directives and written policies, procedures, practices and work rules.
5. Demonstrate Maximum Employee Effectiveness and perform all tasks to the best of your ability at all times.
6. Serve as the equipment operation and troubleshooting “subject matter expert”.
7. Provide peer-to-peer technical training and assistance to colleagues.
8. Actively participate in continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications:
1. Prior experience performing hydrostatic and/or leak testing required. Shipping experience preferred.
2. High School Diploma or GED.
3. Possess effective peer-to-peer training skills.
4. Demonstrate satisfactory verbal and written communication skills. Computer skills helpful.
5. Successful completion of a mathematics, measuring, resin mixing, or any other practical test to determine qualifications.
