CP Industries is seeking a skilled and experienced Pipefitter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for laying out, installing, maintaining, and repairing all types of pipe lines, fittings, and fixtures for plant maintenance and construction projects.
Summary/Objective:
The Pipefitter will work both in the shop and field, interpreting drawings and sketches, selecting appropriate materials, and utilizing various tools and equipment to fabricate and install piping systems. This position requires a strong understanding of pipefitting techniques, safety procedures, and the ability to troubleshoot and repair existing systems.
Essential Functions:
- Receive instructions, prints, and work orders for jobs.
- Interpret drawings and sketches, plan working procedures, and determine material and tool requirements.
- Select materials based on job suitability.
- Lay out work, create piping sketches as needed, and calculate dimensions and radii of bends.
- Set up and operate bending, threading, and cut-off equipment, and use hand tools to shape and fabricate pipe.
- Test, inspect, dismantle, repair, replace, and install high and low-pressure piping, fittings, and fixtures for various applications (air, water, steam, oil, gas, acid, caustic, etc.).
- Create and seal various types of joints (expansion, flange, nipple, coupling, union, lead wiped, soldered, flared, calked, etc.). Prepare pipe for welded or specialized joints. Install gaskets, packing, and pipe supports.
- Apply insulation and pipe covering.
- Adhere to safety precautions and manage materials and equipment at the job site.
- Utilize a burning torch as needed.
- Plan working procedures, identify material/replacement needs, troubleshoot, and repair problems. Respond to trouble calls.

Competencies:
- Physical Demands: This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The ability to lift and/or move items over 75 pounds is required. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Work Environment: Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration is common. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Education and/or Experience:
- Certificate from an accredited trade school program.
- Minimum of two to four years of experience in a similar role.

Pay: $27.70 - $30.70 per hour
