Job Title: Manager of Health Services
Location: CP Rochester Winton Road Facility - Rochester, NY 14623
Annual Salary: $75,000.00 - $82,000 commensurate with experience
Employment: This is a full-time position. Days of the week are Monday – Friday during business hours. Evening work may be required as job duties demand.
Required Education and Experience:
- Current license and registration as a Registered Nurse by the New York State Department of Education. Specialized training and one year of experience in treating individuals with disabilities preferred.
- Must possess and maintain a clean and valid NYS Driver’s License.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and adaptability and aptitude in learning other systems.
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and prioritize in medical/health/safety situations.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise prudent judgment specifically with regards to medical/health/safety issues.
- Demonstrated ability to organize/prioritize work and work independently.
- Minimum of two years supervisory experience preferred.

Summary/Objective: Provides support, guidance and supervision to ensure all individuals’ medical/health needs are addressed promptly and consistent with standards of practice. Ensures coordination and follow-up for all individuals’ medical/health care. Ensures nursing services are in compliance with regulatory guidelines and agency policy and procedures. Serves as a liaison between CP Rochester and external service providers. Provides orientation, teaching, and guidance.
Essential Functions:
- Imparts agency philosophy of “Equal Opportunity, Independence and Realization of Individual Potential” to children, families, program staff and community resources.
- Maintains confidentiality of information relating to individuals and their families in accordance with agency policy.
- Provides clinical guidance to department supervisors with regard to supervision and development of Registered Nurses, LPNs (Day Habilitation, Clinical and Preschool Services).
- Performs routine audits and provides feedback to ensure the quality of medical/health services.
- Ensures medication administration standards within the agency’s Day Habilitation Program are implemented per regulation and agency policy, procedure and protocol. Maintains record and hard data related to medication administration errors. Develops plans to reduce error rates.
- Ensures consistency with practice, procedures, protocols and forms throughout the agency.
- Monitors Non-Residential Staff RNs’/LPNs’ activities and schedules to assure appropriate nursing coverage and to assure compliance with all regulations, policies, procedures, protocols and standards of nursing practice.
- Assist with nursing and health policies and procedures development and implementation.
- Assures completion of all follow-up to any medical/health audits and surveys.
- Assist with coverage during RN vacancies, illnesses, etc.
- Provides regular and annual medical trainings for staff including new hire orientation training, medication administration and all other training assigned by the Director.
- Documents as defined by agency, regulatory bodies, and professional standards of care.
- Keeps Program Administrators aware of related nursing activities and outcomes related to their nursing team.
- Maintains records to ensure employee health requirements are complete and in compliance as determined by program guidelines.
- Provides primary support to the part time psychiatry clinic, assisting healthcare professionals [HCP] (psychiatrist/psychiatric nurse practitioner), to include scheduling, HCP support during psychiatry clinic delivery of treatment. Serves as an ongoing liaison between patients and the HCP for patient care (including but not limited to emergency script coverage, communicating patient concerns to the HCP, and management of the psychiatry patient phone line).
- Serves on the Safety Committee, Safe Patient Handling Committee, Health Services Quality Improvement Committee, and Incident Review Committees.
- Achieves program goals by performing additional duties as required.
- Participates in conferences, workshops and in-service training as needed or recommended to enhance job skills and personal growth and development.
